Appointments
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pets. We open at 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. Please call for an appointment.
Emergencies are accepted anytime our practice is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Emergency & Urgent Care
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any emergency your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
Surgery
If surgery is required we have two fully equipped sterile surgical suites with appropriate anesthetic monitors. We understand the concern you may have with general anesthesia and surgical procedures. Our patients are given a thorough exam prior to such procedures. Pre-anesthetic blood work allows us to evaluate liver and kidney function. Safe injectables and gas anesthesia (isoflurane and sevoflurane), intubation, and a warming blanket are mainstays for our surgical patients. Monitoring devices such as pulse oximetry, ECG, C02 and blood pressure analyzer, add in our assessment of the patient while under anesthesia.
Hospital
We are a modern, full-service animal hospital offering medical and surgical care for outpatients and hospitalized pets. Several diagnostic procedures that are available in the hospital include; complete blood analysis, urinalysis, digital radiography, ultrasound electrocardiography and endoscopy.
Intensive Care Unit
We have added an intensive care unit for patients requiring constant monitoring during illness or anesthetic recovery.
Lab Services
We have expanded our lab area to allow more testing to be preformed more rapidly. We are currently able to run chemistry panels, CBC's and electrolytes while you wait. Our in clinic lab also performs complete urinalysis.
Digital Radiography
Our facility is also equipped with digital radiography, which allows the Doctors to quickly and effectively interpret your pet's radiographs. Digital radiography is also more diagnostic than using regular films.
Dental Procedures
We now have a complete dental suite dedicated to providing the best in patient dental care. We can safely and efficiently perform routine cleaning and polishing of the teeth, dental radiology and both surgical and non-surgical extractions.

We have expanded our facilities to include a completely separate area for our feline patients. This minimizes their stress during exams and hospitalization.
Payments
Animal Medical Clinic of St. Charles accepts payment via cash, check, Visa, Master Card or Discover. We also offer Care Credit. Care Credits is a medical based line of credit that can be used in most medical offices, not just veterinary offices. With Care Credit you have 3 months at 0% interest. So that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered.
We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.
